Athletic Field Drainage Services

When a field holds water, everything slows down. We install drainage systems that keep surfaces firm, consistent, and ready for steady use. From school fields to full athletic complexes, our focus stays on getting water out of the profile so your turf stays healthy and play stays reliable.

Fairway Drainage

Fairways take a beating when water lingers. We design and install subsurface drainage that moves water out fast, keeps turf firm, and trims down those soft spots that slow play. The focus stays on practical fixes that deliver long-term performance.

Greens Drainage

Greens show every flaw, especially when moisture hangs around. Our approach centers on discreet, efficient drainage layouts that protect playability while preserving the rootzone. You get healthier turf, steadier firmness, and fewer morning delays after rain.

Bunker Drainage

Poor bunker drainage turns maintenance into a constant chore. We rebuild the drainage beneath bunkers so they handle storms better and stay playable without daily repairs. The goal is clean sand, less washout, and a smoother experience for your crew.

Low Area Drainage

Every course has low pockets that collect water and stay messy long after a storm. We identify the real cause of the standing water and install systems that quietly move it out of the profile. These fixes reduce mower ruts and help those trouble spots catch up with the rest of the course.

Athletic Field Drainage

Sports fields demand consistency. We design drainage systems that keep surfaces firm and safe through heavy use and unpredictable weather. Fields recover faster, hold up better, and provide the kind of reliability coaches and grounds teams appreciate.

Drainage Inspection

Some issues need a closer look before taking on a full project. Our audit process reviews your current drainage layout, soil profile, moisture patterns, and problem areas. You get clear findings and a realistic plan to correct the underlying issues.

Grading

Grading smooths out surface irregularities on tees, fairways, greens, and surrounds so water moves off instead of sitting where it should not. The result is more consistent turf, fewer wet spots, and safer mowing.

GPS & Mapping

GPS and mapping gives you precise locations for drainage lines, control structures, and key course features. That accuracy makes future repairs, additions, and planning a lot easier for you and your crew.

Tee Restoration

Tee restoration focuses on getting worn or uneven tees back to a clean, functional surface. We handle grading, laser leveling, and fresh grassing so divots heal better and traffic spreads out the way it should.

Why Proper Athletic Field Drainage Matters

Athletic fields take a lot of traffic, and when water sits where it should not, the turf breaks down fast. Soft spots, muddy seams, and uneven footing all come from poor water movement in the soil. That kind of moisture imbalance makes it harder for roots to stay healthy and creates surfaces that wear out long before they should.

Good drainage keeps water moving through the profile instead of lingering on top. A field that sheds water consistently stays firmer, recovers quicker after storms, and gives athletes safer footing throughout the season. It also trims down maintenance headaches for grounds crews who deal with ruts, torn turf, and constant repairs when fields stay wet for too long.

Signs Your Field Needs Drainage Work

Fields usually give clear hints when drainage isn’t doing its job. Standing water after a light rain is the most obvious one, but it’s not the only sign. Soft or spongy areas that never quite firm up, even in dry stretches, usually point to water trapped in the soil profile. You might also see turf thinning in the same spots each season, which happens when roots stay wet for too long.

Uneven footing is another red flag. If athletes hit slick patches or areas that feel unstable underfoot, water is likely collecting below the surface. Slow recovery after games, recurring mud pockets, and compaction that keeps coming back all suggest that the field isn’t draining the way it should.

Customer Reviews

"Turf Rehab made a site visit and created a full master drainage plan for The Tree Farm. They flexibly worked around our golf calendar to complete the works in a timely fashion and made quick audibles after severe weather events. After installing 2” drainage in our fairways, our wettest areas have become our driest. We plan to complete the remainder of our drainage plan and utilize Turf Rehab for any drainage needs in the future."
